Adjunctive Naturopathic Care

Welcome to Naturopathic Medicine!

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine integrates centuries-old therapies with evidence based medicine.

My practice serves adults from 18-100+ years old. (I do not see pediatric patients at this time.)

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are uniquely trained in both natural and conventional medicine, focusing on disease prevention, acute illness treatment, and chronic condition management. Our treatments are effective for a wide range of health issues, addressing the root cause while supporting the body's innate ability to heal.

Important Notice: Currently, I'm only able to provide adjunctive care. Therefore, all patients must either have a primary care provider or be actively seeking one.

Key Principles:

  1. The Power of Nature: We support the body's inherent ability to heal by removing obstacles to recovery.

  2. Identify and Treat the Cause: Our aim is to address the root cause of illness, not just symptoms.

  3. First Do No Harm: We prioritize safe and minimally invasive treatments that respect the body's natural healing processes.

  4. Doctor as Teacher: We empower patients through education and encourage active participation in their healthcare decisions.

  5. Treat the Whole Person: Our holistic approach considers mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental factors.

  6. Practice Prevention: We emphasize lifestyle interventions and risk factor assessment to prevent illness before it occurs.

Scope of Practice in Oregon:

In Oregon, naturopathic physicians have a broad scope of practice, recognized as primary care physicians. We diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe pharmaceuticals and natural therapies. Our treatments include:

  • Clinical Nutrition: Using food and targeted nutrient therapy to maintain health and treat illness.

  • Botanical (Herbal) Medicine: Harnessing the therapeutic power of plants in safe and effective combinations.

  • Physical Medicine: Manipulative therapies, hydrotherapy, and exercise therapy to support musculoskeletal health.

  • Counseling and Stress Management: Addressing mental and emotional factors that impact health.

  • Diagnostic Labs & Imaging: Utilizing conventional diagnostic tools for accurate assessment.

  • Pharmaceutical Medicines: Prescribing pharmaceuticals as needed, with expertise in interactions and complications.

  • Collaboration: We excel in expertly collaborating and referring patients when a higher level of care is necessary.

Additional Services

Integrative Mental Health

I received a masters degree in Integrative Mental Health in 2020 from the National University of Natural Medicine. If you are looking for additional mental health support I offer guided mindfulness sessions in office or over telemedicine to help patients explore where emotions are living in their bodies and how that might be impacting their daily life.

Disclaimer: I am not a license counselor and recommend all patients have a licensed therapist they are working with.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

I have been trained Craniosacral Therapy (CST) which incorporates gentle movement of the head to promote relaxation and nervous system regulation. Sessions usually last between 30-45 minutes.
